Randy Karraker has had a passion for sports history almost from infancy. He had to eat, sleep, and drink sports. The man is simple amazing. If you ever get a chance test him, ask him a question such as this: “What was the count on Barry Bonds when he hit his record-breaking home run?”. He will probably hesitate for a second and then give you the answer and add a few additional facts. “Well, I believe it was the 5th inning when Bonds hit home run 756. In fact, it was an 84 mph fastball off Washington’s Mike Bacsik on August 7, 2007.”

Randy is a graduate of Parkway North High School and Lindenwood University. In fact, he launched his broadcasting career in 1983 while attending Lindenwood. In his early days he was an usher for both the Cardinals and Blues.

After Lindenwood, Karraker spent 18 years at KMOX, working his way up from an intern to hosting the station’s marquee sports program, “Sports Open Line.” Afterward, he had shorter stints at KTRS and Team 1380, where he hosted an afternoon drive program called “The Roll Home” alongside  Bernie Miklasz.

For years, Randy Karraker was the magnetic voice behind “The Fast Lane”, a top-rated sports radio show on 101 ESPN. For years, listeners tuned in, hanging on every word as Randy and partners dissected games, celebrated victories, and debated player stats.

Before the Rams packed their bags and moved to Los Angeles in January 2016, Karraker was the voice behind the St. Louis Rams pregame shows on 101 ESPN.

His passion for sports is contagious, and  his distinctive voice is recognizable to all sports fans. So, whether you’ve tuned in to his radio show or spotted him at a game, Randy Karraker is a true St. Louis sports aficionado. We all need a sportscaster who lives and breathes the game!

Randy is a pillar of the St. Louis community on and off the radio airwaves. He is continuously involved with a variety of charities and benefits.

But wait, there’s more! He also hosted the St. Louis Rams pregame shows on 101 ESPN until the team’s move to Los Angeles in 2016. And hey, did you know he was the television voice of the Southern Illinois Edwardsville Cougars basketball? Yep, he brought the hardwood action to our screens.

His induction into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame is a fitting tribute—a nod to the passion, the banter, and the memories he’s woven into our hearts. He’s the guy who makes us cheer, debate, and feel the pulse of St. Louis sports. The spotlight shines on him tonight as we celebrate his impact on our sports-loving city.
