From 1971-1988, Greg was a newspaper reporter/sports editor and lead columnist for the popular St. Louis Suburban Journals. He became a broadcaster beginning 1973 for St. Louis U. Hockey on KMOX Radio, and founded SNI Sports Network, the midwest’s top TV sports syndicator in 1975 with properties like SLU basketball, Missouri Tiger Football/Basketball and a dozen combinations of baseball, football, basketball and hockey radio and TV shows with star players around the nation.

He owned the rights for St. Louis Cardinals baseball on KMOX and the radio network 1977-1980, pioneered the development of a Big Eight Basketball Post Season Tournament television network, and owned broadcast rights for SLU, Mizzou, Wisconsin, Texas A&M, and Colorado in football and basketball.

SNI went national with weekly TV syndications like “Billy Packer’s College Basketball”, “This Week in College Football” with Pat Haden, covering 85% of country’s households.  He produced “The Legend of Notre Dame Football” for NBC  Sports and cassette sales at ND.

Two more national TV successes were the “College Basketball Player of the Year Awards” as pregame to the Final Four annually on CBS Sports and the “Golf Skills Challenge” on NBC Sports with the PGA Tour players, still airing today. Owned national radio series with stars Dick Vitale and Dan Dierdorf plus created TV specials for the College Football Hall of Fame on NBC.

He bought three radio stations in St. Louis in 1998 building the all sports radio market in the city, KFNS 590AM, KFNS-FM100.7 and 1190AM.  These top sports stations were sold in 2004 for $11.5 million.

He authored four (4) books, “Full Court—The Untold Stories of the St. Louis Hawks”, “The Big Red—A Celebration of the St. Louis Football Cardinals”, “The St. Louis Hawks—A Gallery of Images and Memorabilia” and the top selling “Cardinals of Cooperstown”, the history of the 42 players in the Hall of Fame.

In 2009, Greg founded the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame, recognized as the no. 1 off-the-field sports organization in St. Louis.  The Hall of Fame features the stories of every sport to play in the city, plus many sold out events honoring the great athletes of all-time.

A member of three Halls of Fame including the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame for broadcasting excellence 2006, his resume represents over 40 years in the sports media.
