President’s Choice Award

 

Bill LaMothe attended St. Matthew grade school, Lutheran North High School and Concordia University Seward.

He was an all-conference baseball player and football player at Lutheran North. His 43 RBI’s in 1972 has held the test of time as Lutheran North’s single season RBI  leader. His home run production is still part of the top home run hitters in Crusaders’ history. Bill continued to play baseball and football at Concordia.

Bill’s life accomplishments are attributed through hard work. His career in Logistics has taken him around the world. He evolved into an entrepreneur. Bill has started, built and sold great companies. Bill believes that his success is tied to Lutheran High School North and the support, and encouragement received from teachers, coaches, friends, friend’s parents and his family.

Bill started his Logistics career in Houston in 1980. His career moved very rapidly and in 1990 he founded Skyking Freight Systems. In 1999 Skyking was sold to Exel Global Logistics and eventually became the largest Logistics Company in the World. Bill was Exel’s Chief Sales and Marketing Officer headquartered in Bracknell, United Kingdom. Bill was part of the executive team during the company’s explosive growth. Today Exel trades as DHL Supply Chain Limited and operates as a subsidiary of Deutsche Post AG.

Bill married Merry “Lyn” Dixon in 1979 and they eventually settled in Irving, TX. They raised fpir successful children. Ashlee, Beau, Brooke and Alec. Ashlee is married to John Howard, creative director for Emerge Technologies based in Dallas. Ashlee and John have blessed Bill and Lyn with two great grandchildren Stella and Sloan. Beau is married to Krista Browning, a successful Farmers Insurance Agent in Dallas.
